Interim Death Certificate

If a cause of death has not been established a Coroner will be called to establish the cause of death. The coroner is generally involved in circumstances where death has occurred and the deceased has not seen a doctor within th last 48 hours. Whilst an investigation, by the coroner, takes please the coroners office will issue an Interim Death Certificate.

The interim death certificate will give the Personal Representatives, whether they be executors or administrators under intestacy, the opportunity to begin the probate process. Therefore the interim death certificate can be used to begin the probate process.
