Lasting Power Attorney

A Legal document giving someone authority to deal with your affairs if you lose mental capacity.
Often created at the same time as a will there are two types, one for health and welfare the other for financial matters.
The Enduring Power of Attorney was replaced with the more secure but more complex Lasting Power of Attorney. Enduring Power of Attorney's signed before the 1st Oct 2007 are still valid.
