The office is open to the general public between Mondays to Thursday from 9.30am until 4.00pm. It is recommended to telephone or email first, before you visit. The registry may not be able to provide the information you need. For example, if you're conducting genealogical research, you may need to contact the principle registry for access to the entire calendar records. HM Courts and Tribunals may require you to make an appointment so they can assist you.
The registry does not provide legal advice; staff are not qualified to do so. Nor can they offer guidance about inheritance tax. Depending on the nature of your enquiry, they may recommend that you seek professional assistance.
